Sun Salutation: Finale!!

Monkey See, Monkey Do....

Okay… Our Grande Finale!!

So we already know our:

*Downward Facing Dog:  aka. Upside ‘V’ like the second Monkey

*Plank:  Body is strong like a 2×4 (remember, knees can come to floor!)

*Crocodile: 90 degree bend in the elbows

*Cobra: squeezing the muscles like the 3rd monkey

* Engage all the muscles and lift the hips back to our Down Dog. Lunges on each leg if we want to spice it up!!

Our Final Poses!!!

*Step both feet towards the hands for Forward Fold: Touch the toes! or anything we can reach!

*Knees are soft, back is long and strong as we reach the hands up to the sky… Greeting the Sun

*Hands to the heart center in Mountain. aaaahhhhh

Inhale, reaching the arms up then Swan Dive back to Forward Fold, steppin’ it back to our Down Dog.  Now time to scroll back to the top of this page and try it all over again… this time, add the breath… One Breath~One Movement.  Exhale: Down Dog, Inhale: Plank, keep it going!

I’ve spent the week posting the for good reason, it is a great flow for any Practice.  A couple of Salutations is a fabulous way to start the day and get the blood moving through the body!  For athletes of any age, this is awesome for a quick warm-up/.   If it seems a bit overwhelming… keep trying.  Each time, it will get a little easier…. honest!!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with Sun Salutations!  Next week, I’m gonna be bustin’ some Yoga Myths!  Until then…

Namaste’
