A Silver Lined Cloud

“Mean people Suck” is one way to look at it… But how about, just for today, we look at it in a whole new way, for example:
We’ll start with the drive to work…
The guy/gal in front of you refuses to use their blinker while turning going 45 mph. Instead of flipping them the bird, admire their sense of adventure and spontaneity.

Perhaps you were the receiver of the middle finger, instead of getting pissed off:  admire the flexibility of their Metacarpo-phalangeal Joints.

See how this works??

Then, some jerk thinks that if he zips in and out of traffic long enough he will arrive at his destination 30 seconds faster; so while shaking your head and rolling your eyes, admire their depth perception and reaction time.  oh, and stay the hell away.

Finally, we arrive at our home-away-from-home, and acknowledge the fact that we never really left this place.  Time for our silver lining:

First, there are lots of unemployed people that would love to be in your shoes.

Unfortunately, your boss is not one of those people.  So as he/she shows up at your desk first thing to follow-up on the email that they sent at 5:20 pm yesterday, admire their dedication (then demonstrate the flexibility of your Metacarpo-phalangeal joint… just make sure they don’t see).

OMG…The “Cackler” is checking her email, damn jokes!  and why the heck does she HAVE to laugh soooo loud?  Is it mandatory that every office has to have a Cackler?  Dear God, when will she stop laughing and actually get some work done?  Oh shit, she’s heading this way, gotta look busy!  Instead, Admire her ability to laugh at anything (and everything!)

Skip ahead a bit:  Yeah!  It’s 4:45pm, we can do this… 15 minutes will fly by:

damn.  It’s only 4:48… how can 3 minutes go by soooo slow?? Silver Lining?  We are living in each moment, right?   So we can admire the next breath and be thankful it happened.

Next, we fight the traffic, pull into the driveway… so happy to be home!!  We walk through the front door and realize our timing sucks just as much as little mean people… the kids are screaming and yelling and now so is the spouse.  Admire their spunk and willingness to fight for what they believe in…even if it’s stupid, petty and ridiculous…. oh, and give the spouse a hug.  ;)

Then, it’s your turn to do the dishes, admire this opportunity to contribute to the positive Feng Shui in your environment…and  be thankful it’s not your turn to put the little mean people to bed tonight. ;)

There is always a Silver Lining, even on the greyest of clouds, we just have to change our sometimes.

With much :  Namaste’

Carrisa
